MINUTEMEN for CHRIST
Herald and preach the Word! Keep your sense of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready], whether the opportunity seems to be favorable or unfavorable. [Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong.] And convince them, rebuking and correcting, warning and urging and encouraging them, being unflagging and inexhaustible in patience and teaching.
II Timothy 4:2 Amplified Classic
“Tell everyone God’s message. Be ready at all times to do whatever is needed. Tell people what they need to do, tell them when they are doing wrong, and encourage them. Do this with great patience and careful teaching.”
II Timothy 4:2 ERV
What were their common characteristics of Minutemen?
“…..from Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.”
I Chronicles 12:32
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
CLOSING
“He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul to answer, oh be jubilant, my feet
His truth is marching on…” Battle Hymn of the Republic

- Minutemen were a small hand-picked elite force which were required to be highly mobile and able to assemble quickly.
- The Minutemen were the first armed militia to arrive or await a battle.
- They trained constantly, they kept their weapons ready, their powder dry. They were ready at a moment’s notice….ready in minutes.
What were their common characteristics of Minutemen?
- They SAW the Need. “Son of man do you see…?” Ezekiel 8:6
“…..from Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.”
I Chronicles 12:32
- They Strategized a Plan.
- The Minutemen of our early days -though consider “rabble”, were highly trained.
- The Minutemen for Christ today-must also strategize. Training, preparation and development of a plan that will win the day.
- Read the Book.
- Gen. Patton to Rommel. “I read your book!”
- God has given us the master plan…the Bible.
- in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.”
- Ready Yourself-
- If my people, who are called by My Name…turn from their wicked ways…”
- Everyone who competes….goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. I Cor. 9:25
- Put on the full armor of God, so you can take your stand… Eph 6:11
- Remember the Target.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
- They Seized the Moment – Seize =”to grab, take hold of by force.”
- The Minutemen recognized the moment when they were needed.
- Minutemen for Christ must also recognize the moment- We are in a pivotal, perhaps the most pivotal moment in history this nation has ever seen. We need Minutemen…men of valor…who are willing to lay aside comfort and rise to the aide of the cause of Christ.
